Luminous

Luminous is about wanting to filter life in a more positive way. Often times its easy to feel like everything is going wrong and nothing is ever going to get better. But its important to leave that mindset and tell yourself things will get better, even if sometimes you don't believe it. The gasmask represents the filter I use when I look at the world. The glowing from the body shows how much I want to see everything more positive but the clouded eyes of the gasmask make everything hard to see.
La-La Land

This piece is about not always feeling present and in the moment. So much could being going on around you but you feel like you are somewhere else entirely in your mind. The zentagles in the piece create an overwhelming feeling around the woman while she spaces out. The flowers are crowding her and look like they are about to suffocate her body.

I first came up with the idea of this piece when I was doodling a orange with a face during my math class. For me, this piece represents the uncomfortable transition from childhood to adulthood. It happens so fast that you never really get to process everything.
